Rooms For You, Room Hire

There are several rooms on site of varying sizes for hire and the worship sanctuary, catering for meetings or functions. The rooms are used by a wide range of the local community, and groups or individuals are welcome to use them.

They can be hired in advance:

  • For one-off events, or a block of regular meetings with personal hirer access to the premises
  • Together with a supporting kitchen if food preparation is needed, and
  • Are available with limited (non-hazardous) equipment storage space for long-term (e.g. weekly for 12-month) room hires. Any electrical equipment stored/left on the premises must be PAT tested and appropriately labelled.
  • All Hirers are required to agree to abide to the Richmond Methodist Church (RMC) Standard Conditions of Hire (links below).

Key Extracts from Richmond Methodist Church (RMC) Standard Conditions of Hire

  • Payment in advance is required for all bookings.
  • The Hirer agrees to adhere to the Richmond Methodist Church Standard Conditions of Hire, which can be viewed in full here.
  • The Hirer uses the premises at their own risk. The Methodist Church and Richmond Methodist Church accepts no liability for any loss, damage or injury to any person or property; or theft, liability or expense suffered by any person during or as a result of the Hirer's use of the Premises.
  • As a Methodist Church site, neither alcohol nor gambling is permitted on site, and neither is non-Christian worship. Any form of worship (including Christian) must be advised at the time of booking.
  • Hirers must sign to confirm they will adopt the RMC Safeguarding policy (see here) or have their own equivalent policy. When making the booking hirers will have to declare which policy they are adopting so that the relevant form can be emailed for electronic signature.
  • Access to the premises is via a key which is supplied to the hirer. The keyholder declaration form must be signed (see here) and will be emailed to the hirer for electronic signature as part of the hiring process. The key must not be used for access at any time other than that agreed to for the booking.
  • Hirers must ensure all Rooms used (including toilets) are clean and tidy before and after use and any RMC equipment used is returned to the location it came from. Booked Room Hire periods should allow for this.
  • Hirers will comply with all UK legislation as exists during all hire periods.
  • Hirers will comply with all Methodist Church policy and procedures and observe all site policies and procedures, for example relating to insurance, health and safety, site access, car parking, storage of equipment, fire alarms, site access, security, use by disabled persons, and electrical equipment.
  • Hire cancellations will only enable refunds for booked dates at least 15 days in advance.
  • RMC reserves the right to cancel any existing booking, or refuse any new proposed booking.
